Policy and funding conditions

Released Beige Book describes persistent price pressure

News suggests price may go downTime horizon: Next hours to weeks; conditional funding interpretation

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: The released national summary describes moderate-to-robust price growth across most Districts, with higher oil costs and further price increases expected by contacts. Manufacturing expanded in several Districts, while most reported little change in consumer spending or employment.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: persistent price pressure can oppose easier funding conditions and Bitcoin demand. Subdued demand and the report’s older information cutoff are counterweights; this is not a rate decision or the views of Fed policymakers.

What to watch: Watch tomorrow’s released PPI, later yields/currency evidence and a confirmed BTC/EUR reclaim. Anecdotal contacts through 5 October do not measure current Bitcoin buying.

September CPI accelerates; core prices also rise

News suggests price may go downTime horizon: Rest of 14 October to 1–3 days; reassess after new evidence

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: BLS reports September CPI increased 0.6% month-on-month, seasonally adjusted, and 3.7% over twelve months. Excluding food and energy, the increases were 0.3% and 2.6%. This replaces the morning’s calendar-only status.

Our interpretation: Desk assessment: firmer inflation can sustain restrictive funding conditions and pressure Bitcoin demand. An energy-heavy headline and a later price recovery could weaken that interpretation.

What to watch: Whether subsequent inflation data and completed BTC/EUR candles confirm persistent pressure or a recovery.

Post-release reporting shows Bitcoin and bonds weaken

News suggests price may go downTime horizon: Next hours to 24 hours; reassess at the next update

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: CoinDesk’s Stephen Alpher reported Bitcoin falling alongside rising Treasury yields after the inflation release. That is dated original reporting, not a current EUR quote; the desk’s price and indicator values come directly from Kraken BTC/EUR.

Our interpretation: Desk assessment: the cross-market response supports caution about funding pressure, but does not prove a unique cause or establish that the initial decline must continue.

What to watch: A completed-hour recovery of the broken EUR references, or renewed failure despite the current rebound.

13 October ETF estimate is now complete and positive

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: 1–3 days of context; not today’s final flow

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Farside now lists estimated net inflows of US$175.7 million for 13 October, including IBIT US$65.9 million, FBTC US$103.1 million and MSBT US$6.7 million. Today’s 14 October fields remain unreported; its displayed zero is not a verified result.

Our interpretation: Desk assessment: the prior-session demand estimate is supportive context, but cannot cancel today’s inflation shock or prove current purchases. It remains an estimate subject to revision.

Dollar strengthens in the updated post-CPI report

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: Next hours to 1–3 days; currency effects can reverse

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters’ updated currency report describes a stronger dollar and weaker euro after CPI. Laura Matthews and Sruthi Shankar are the current bylined reporters. The exact update time is not displayed; the earlier morning version is retained only as history.

Our interpretation: Desk assessment: a firmer dollar can oppose risk appetite, while a weaker euro can partly cushion BTC/EUR relative to dollar-denominated moves. No numerical FX conversion is assumed.

What to watch: Whether EUR conditions and the directly observed BTC/EUR recovery improve together after the next policy evidence.

Asian shares steady, but oil and CPI remain risks

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: Today to 1–3 days

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters’ Jiaxing Li reports a modest recovery in Asian shares after the chip-sector selloff. Elevated oil prices and caution before U.S. CPI limited the improvement in risk sentiment.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: steadier equities may help appetite for risk, while persistent energy costs can reinforce inflation and funding pressure. Neither channel proves a Bitcoin price reaction.

What to watch: Look for the post-CPI direction of yields and whether BTC/EUR holds its completed-candle recovery; a headline alone is insufficient.

Waller links higher yields to growth

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: 13–15 October · next hours to 2 days

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters reported that Fed Governor Christopher Waller attributed higher U.S. yields to growth and described inflation expectations as anchored during a Mumbai event.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: less inflation-premium concern may help sentiment, but growth-driven high yields still tighten funding conditions. This is his view, not a new Fed decision.

What to watch: Tomorrow’s official CPI and subsequent yields plus completed BTC/EUR recovery candles.

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters examined how a Democratic congressional victory could increase scrutiny of crypto firms. No election outcome, new law or Bitcoin trading restriction has occurred in this report.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: future oversight could affect sentiment and legal costs, but its scale and direction remain conditional. It does not establish a near-term BTC/EUR trade.

Bitcoin rebounds after an overnight drop

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: 13 October · next 6–24 hours

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: CoinDesk reported Bitcoin recovering above US$83,000 after briefly trading below US$81,000, while Korean equities and Nasdaq futures weakened. Kraken BTC/EUR independently recorded a €72,568.40 completed-4H low before the recovery.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: the reversal shows dip demand, but its size also confirms high intraday risk. One rebound does not establish a lasting uptrend or a profitable entry.

What to watch: Two completed BTC/EUR 4H closes above the verified recovery gate, or renewed closes below the active floor.

What happened: Farside’s generated table currently estimates a US$65.4 million net outflow for 12 October, entirely shown under IBIT at this check. It is a flow estimate, not a change in fund assets or a 13 October transaction.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: another net redemption can weigh on institutional-demand sentiment, although the figure may be revised and overnight BTC/EUR recovered.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: continued corporate accumulation supports the demand channel over days or weeks. These completed purchases may already be priced in and do not overcome weak intraday EUR momentum by themselves.

US stocks diverge as oil and inflation risks weigh

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: Hours to 1–3 days

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters’ updated intraday report describes mixed US stock indexes, pressure on technology shares and firmer oil ahead of earnings and inflation data. The selected observation is during trading, not a final closing result.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: higher energy costs can complicate easing expectations and risk appetite. Earnings resilience can offset that channel; EUR currency moves can also change Bitcoin returns for euro investors.

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters’ Monday report describes weaker Asian shares, firmer US and European futures, softer oil and pressure on the euro. Its full licensed text was read through CNA; the original Reuters page was inaccessible.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: easing oil may help risk appetite while weak shares and funding concerns oppose it. A softer euro can change BTC/EUR independently of Bitcoin’s dollar direction.

What happened: Stephen Alpher’s CoinDesk report says Trump announced an energy ceasefire and Ukraine supported de-escalation while awaiting details. Reuters reported no immediate Russian confirmation. Original social statements could not be independently read.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: implemented de-escalation could ease energy risk and help BTC sentiment over hours or days. An unconfirmed claim can fail; no BTC price causality or EUR target follows.

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Reuters reports state media quoted Iran’s security chief describing the US response to its Hormuz proposal as insufficient. The White House had not immediately commented; the primary state-media statement was not independently read.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: unresolved passage negotiations can sustain energy and inflation risk, possibly weighing on BTC risk appetite. This conflicts with de-escalation hopes; EUR effects and demand can offset it.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: this is a wallet-user security warning. Without verified new losses or a device exploit, it gives no established direction for the wider BTC/EUR market.

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Two new original CoinDesk reports examine rebuilt Bitcoin depth and persistent positioning risk. Their historical observations and interview opinions do not predict today’s next price move.

Our interpretation: The desk treats this as mixed evidence, alongside the month’s older demand and policy facts. A deeper resting book is not an acquisition or a guarantee against sharp moves.

What to watch: Updated original depth data and completed spot closes; historical resting orders alone confirm neither recovery nor a safe entry.

9 October analysis: calmer averages still leave sharp-move risk

Mixed news: price may go up or downTime horizon: 10–24 October · next 2 weeks; reassess after new evidence

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Omkar Godbole’s original CoinDesk analysis finds more unusually large relative Bitcoin moves in 2026 so far than in 2018, despite lower average volatility. It measures daily changes against trailing 30-day realized volatility; this is research, not a directional forecast.

Our interpretation: Our desk interpretation: quiet trading does not remove sharp-move risk in either direction. The analysis cannot identify today’s next move or justify larger exposure solely because average volatility fell.

What to watch: Next week’s actual inflation releases and completed BTC/EUR candles; calm trading alone confirms neither a break nor a recovery.

Our interpretation: Our desk interpretation: unresolved venue-policy risk could weigh on confidence over days or weeks. A review is not a breach finding, and this report does not establish a Bitcoin price effect.

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: The Federal Reserve published minutes of its 15–16 September meeting. This is the record of a prior meeting, rather than a new October rate decision.

Our interpretation: The desk sees mixed pressure: Friday’s return of inflows helps demand, but its small size does not reverse the week’s withdrawals. Spot buyers can offset or overwhelm fund activity.

Desk interpretation · Uncertainty: High

What happened: Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack argued that restrictive policy is appropriate given persistent inflation pressures, preferring smaller, timely adjustments. Her 12 October speech explicitly describes her own conditional views, rather than announcing an FOMC decision.

Our interpretation: Desk interpretation: a restrictive stance could weigh on funding conditions and Bitcoin risk appetite over days. Her view may be anticipated, other policymakers can differ, and a price recovery can contradict this channel.

Primary-access and confirmation limits are disclosed in the 11 October daily issue. Conditional macro channels conflict; no numerical future BTC destination is implied. Older material and the dated catalyst calendar remain below.

11 October addition · Sunday reporting

Source check 11 October 2026 at 18:57 Vienna / 2026-10-11T16:57:02Z. Today’s COLDCARD security reporting and Reuters escalation report add uncertainty; neither establishes a future Bitcoin price. Primary-access limitations are disclosed in the 11 October daily issue. Older month-to-date facts and the dated risk calendar remain below. The live EUR chart and conditional day/swing setups belong to that current daily snapshot.

Running-review addition · 10 October 2026, US-data edition

New original liquidity research reporting and crash-anniversary interviews add dated market-structure context. Publication today is separate from the earlier observations and the 2025 event. The 10 October daily issue retains exact publication times, earlier context and the conditional EUR setups.

Desk interpretation · next two weeks: no one-way conclusion follows from these research reports. Continue to test demand, actual inflation outcomes and completed spot candles rather than assume a calendar anniversary predicts a crash. The existing catalyst calendar remains unchanged; its outcomes are not reported in advance.

10 October update · Running review

New publication dates: Omkar Godbole’s CoinDesk risk analysis appeared on 10 October at 07:43 Vienna. Chris Strohm’s Bloomberg Binance report is stamped 9 October 23:57 UTC, or 10 October 01:57 Vienna. The research concerns historical moves; the compliance interview occurred this week, with no exact interview date stated or breach finding reported.

Desk interpretation · next two weeks: calm averages do not establish low jump risk, and unresolved exchange-policy questions may affect confidence. Neither report identifies a guaranteed direction or price destination. Official findings, the next fund-flow estimates and scheduled inflation releases are the evidence to watch.

Running review update · 10 October morning

Newly checked: Friday’s modest positive ETF flow estimate left a negative week; the Farside table is the original provider estimate source. This does not imply weekend ETF trading or a confirmed issuer purchase.

CoinDesk’s Krisztian Sandor reports Ledger investigating CryptoBilis-linked missing funds and requesting a sales pause. The cause and loss total are unconfirmed; the original company X post was inaccessible during the check. The report dates to 9 October.

Our interpretation: funding and custody concerns remain counterweights to improved Friday demand. The earlier 4H recovery has failed; that is updated in the 10 October daily issue, which carries the current dated EUR analysis. Previous editions below remain historical context, not current price confirmation.

News checked 10 October 2026 at 08:10 Vienna / 2026-10-10T06:10:34.945Z. The existing dated risk calendar remains visible; outcomes are unknown. This is a running review until month end, not a completed October retrospective.

Running review update · 9 October 2026 evening

New month-to-date evidence: the University of Michigan’s preliminary October survey put sentiment at 46.3 versus 48.1 in September, with one-year inflation expectations at 4.7% and long-run expectations at 3.5%. This completed release replaces the earlier calendar-only entry. The desk treats higher inflation expectations as a possible funding and risk-appetite headwind, while weaker confidence can also alter the policy outlook.

The daily details, source dates and conditional EUR framework are in the 9 October Bitcoin briefing. Later October catalysts remain outcomes to verify, not forecasts. Not financial advice.

Why these belong in a Bitcoin review

Editorial interpretation: Inflation data and policy decisions can change funding expectations and broader risk appetite. Corporate disclosures can update evidence about actual Bitcoin demand. Their influence is conditional: the same headline can have a different market effect depending on expectations, liquidity and positioning.

For a euro-based trader, the BTC/EUR chart is the relevant price reference. A dollar-denominated Bitcoin headline does not establish the same percentage move in euros. Compare actual euro candles and volume with the news timestamp before attributing a price change to a particular story.

What would change our assessment

A newly released inflation result, a confirmed policy decision, a dated material investor transaction, or an important security or regulatory announcement can change the evidence. We add such developments when a source can be checked. We do not pad the review with repeated forecasts or relabel older events as today’s news.

The live technical panel is available on the market desk. Price, moving averages and RSI describe current or recent market behaviour; they do not make this news review a tested price-prediction model.
