Privacy Policy for AI Chat by API

This Privacy Policy explains how INGOAMPT (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in relation to the
AI Chat by API mobile application (the “App”).

AI Chat by API is a bring-your-own-API-key app. The App lets users connect to the OpenAI API using their own OpenAI API key.
INGOAMPT does not collect, store, read, sell, or track users’ chat messages, uploaded text, extracted document text, or OpenAI API keys on INGOAMPT servers.

When a user sends a message or uses an AI feature, the user’s submitted content is sent to OpenAI for processing so that an AI response can be generated.
Because OpenAI may process the user’s prompts, responses, and related request data through the user’s own OpenAI API account/API key, the App Store privacy label may show
“User Content linked to you.” This does not mean that INGOAMPT receives, stores, reads, sells, or tracks the user’s conversations.

The App does not display advertising, does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not use cross-app tracking for advertising, does not include in-app purchases,
and does not require users to create an account with INGOAMPT.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy is intended to help users understand what information is and is not handled in connection with the App.
It also explains the difference between information handled by INGOAMPT and information processed by OpenAI
when the user connects the App with the user’s own OpenAI API key.

By using the App’s AI features, you understand that the text or content you choose to submit must be sent to OpenAI in order to generate an AI response.
The App cannot generate AI responses without sending your request to OpenAI’s API.

3. Short Privacy Summary

In summary:

  • INGOAMPT does not collect, store, read, sell, or track your chat content on INGOAMPT servers.
  • INGOAMPT does not collect, store, sell, or track your OpenAI API key on INGOAMPT servers.
  • The App uses your own OpenAI API key to send your requests to OpenAI.
  • Your prompts, submitted text, extracted document text, and AI responses may be processed by OpenAI according to OpenAI’s own policies.
  • The App Store may show “User Content linked to you” because OpenAI may process your submitted content through your own OpenAI API account or API key.
  • This does not mean that INGOAMPT receives or stores your conversations.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not run ads in the App.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers for ad targeting.
  • We do not use cross-app or cross-website tracking for advertising.
  • We do not offer in-app purchases.
  • We do not require user registration with INGOAMPT.

4. Why the App Store May Show “User Content Linked to You”

Apple’s App Store privacy label may show “User Content linked to you” for this App.
This is because the App sends user-submitted content to OpenAI for the purpose of generating AI responses.

Examples of user content may include:

  • Chat messages typed by the user
  • Prompts or questions submitted by the user
  • Text extracted from PDF or TXT files if the user chooses to process that text with AI
  • AI responses generated from the user’s request

This content may be linked to the user by OpenAI through the user’s OpenAI API key, OpenAI API account, billing account, request metadata, or other technical information used by OpenAI to provide the API service.

Important: “Linked to you” on the App Store privacy label does not mean that INGOAMPT reads, stores, sells, or tracks your conversations.
It means that user content may be processed by OpenAI as part of the App’s core functionality.

5. Information INGOAMPT Does Not Collect

As currently offered, the App does not use an INGOAMPT account system and does not collect or store personal data on INGOAMPT servers for marketing,
advertising, analytics profiling, resale, or data brokerage purposes.

In the normal operation of the App, INGOAMPT does not collect or store the following on INGOAMPT servers:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Postal address
  • Payment information
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Precise location information
  • User chat messages
  • User prompts
  • AI responses
  • Uploaded file text
  • Extracted PDF or TXT text
  • OpenAI API keys
  • User behavior profiles for advertising

We do not create user marketing profiles, advertising segments, or remarketing audiences from use of this App.

6. Information Sent to OpenAI

The main function of the App is to let the user interact with OpenAI’s API through the user’s own API key.
To provide that functionality, information that the user chooses to submit in the App may be transmitted from the user’s device to OpenAI.

Depending on how the App is used, this may include:

  • User-entered chat prompts or text requests
  • Conversation content that the user chooses to send for processing
  • Text extracted from files if the user chooses to send that text to OpenAI
  • Technical request information needed to deliver a response
  • The user’s own OpenAI API key or token, used to authenticate the request with OpenAI

This transmission is necessary for the App’s AI response feature to work.
Without sending the request to OpenAI, the App cannot obtain the AI-generated response requested by the user.

INGOAMPT does not use this transmitted information for advertising, tracking, profiling, or selling user data.

7. OpenAI API Key

The App allows or requires the user to provide the user’s own OpenAI API key in order to connect to OpenAI’s API.

Your OpenAI API key is used only to authenticate requests to OpenAI so that the App can return the requested AI response.
INGOAMPT does not sell, rent, trade, or use your API key for advertising, profiling, or unrelated commercial purposes.

INGOAMPT does not collect or store your OpenAI API key on INGOAMPT servers.
If the App saves your API key for convenience, it is intended to be saved locally on your device and used only for connecting your requests to OpenAI.

Users are responsible for handling their own API credentials carefully and for reviewing OpenAI’s applicable terms, billing terms, usage limits, and privacy practices.
Use of the OpenAI API may create costs in the user’s own OpenAI account.

8. How Information Is Used

Information transmitted through the App is used only for limited functional purposes, including:

  • Sending the user’s request to OpenAI
  • Authenticating the request using the user’s own OpenAI API key
  • Receiving and displaying the AI-generated response inside the App
  • Maintaining and operating the App’s core functionality
  • Helping prevent misuse, abuse, fraud, or security issues where required by OpenAI or applicable law

INGOAMPT does not use user-submitted content for advertising, sale of data, behavioral profiling, cross-service marketing, or data brokerage.

9. Advertising, Tracking, and Analytics

No advertising: The App does not display third-party advertisements.

No tracking for ads: The App does not track users across third-party apps, websites, or services for targeted advertising.

No ad SDKs: We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs for monetization.

No marketing analytics by INGOAMPT: We do not use analytics in the App for advertising profiling, retargeting, or audience-building purposes.

10. In-App Purchases and Payments

The App does not offer in-app purchases.

The App does not process user payments inside the App.

INGOAMPT does not collect payment card details, billing information, or purchase history through the App.

Any OpenAI API usage costs are handled between the user and OpenAI through the user’s own OpenAI account. INGOAMPT does not control OpenAI billing.

11. Accounts and Registration

The App does not require users to register an account with INGOAMPT in order to use the App.

We do not operate an INGOAMPT in-app account system for this App and do not maintain user profiles for social networking, advertising, or subscription management.

Users may need their own OpenAI account and OpenAI API key to use the App’s AI features.
That OpenAI account is controlled by OpenAI, not by INGOAMPT.

12. Data Sharing and Third Parties

INGOAMPT does not sell or rent user personal data.

INGOAMPT does not share user information with advertisers, marketing platforms, data brokers, or third-party ad networks.

However, the App sends user-submitted requests and the user’s own OpenAI API key to OpenAI because this is necessary to generate the requested AI response.

OpenAI may process submitted prompts, responses, files, extracted text, API keys, usage metadata, and related technical information according to OpenAI’s own terms,
privacy policy, API data controls, and legal obligations.

OpenAI states that data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in.
OpenAI also states that API abuse-monitoring logs may contain prompts and responses and may be retained for up to 30 days unless OpenAI is legally required
to retain them longer or a different approved retention control applies.

We may also disclose limited information if required by applicable law, legal process, or valid governmental request,
or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, security, prevent fraud, or investigate misuse.

13. Data Retention and Deletion

By INGOAMPT:

INGOAMPT does not intend to retain user prompts, chat content, extracted document text, AI responses, or OpenAI API keys on INGOAMPT servers in the normal operation of the App.

Because we do not maintain a user-content database for this App on INGOAMPT servers, requests to delete data from INGOAMPT may be limited to whatever information,
if any, INGOAMPT actually possesses.

By OpenAI:

When a user sends content through the App to OpenAI, OpenAI may process and retain that content according to OpenAI’s own terms, privacy notices,
API data controls, technical settings, and legal obligations.

If you want to understand, access, correct, delete, or limit data retained by OpenAI, you should review OpenAI’s privacy tools,
account settings, data controls, and support channels.

14. Security

We aim to minimize the amount of information handled by INGOAMPT.
Keeping the App free of advertising, tracking, in-app purchases, and INGOAMPT user accounts reduces many common privacy risks.

However, no method of data transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should avoid including highly sensitive personal information, confidential business information, medical details, financial details,
passwords, private keys, or other sensitive information in prompts unless they understand and accept OpenAI’s applicable privacy and data practices.

Users should also keep their OpenAI API key private and should not share it with other people.
If a user believes their API key has been exposed, they should revoke or rotate the key in their OpenAI account.

15. Children’s Privacy

INGOAMPT does not knowingly collect personal data from children on INGOAMPT servers through this App in the normal course of operation.

If you believe that a child has provided personal data directly to INGOAMPT despite our stated practices, please contact us and we will review the matter.

Because the App relies on OpenAI’s API, parents and guardians should review OpenAI’s terms, privacy policy, and age-related rules before allowing a child to use the App.

16. International Users

If you use the App from outside your country of residence, local privacy laws may differ.
INGOAMPT’s own practices remain as described in this Privacy Policy, but OpenAI may process data in accordance with OpenAI’s own infrastructure,
international transfer mechanisms, contractual terms, and legal obligations.

17. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding personal data, including rights of access, correction, deletion, portability,
restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent.

Since INGOAMPT generally does not maintain personal data from the App on INGOAMPT servers, the practical scope of requests directed to INGOAMPT may be limited.
However, you may still contact us and we will review reasonable privacy-related requests in good faith.

You can also choose:

  • Not to use the App’s AI request feature
  • Not to enter an OpenAI API key
  • Not to submit sensitive personal information in prompts
  • Not to upload or process sensitive document text
  • To delete locally saved app data from your device, where available
  • To revoke or rotate your OpenAI API key through your OpenAI account
  • To review and manage privacy settings or data controls offered by OpenAI

18. Third-Party Policies

When you use the App with OpenAI, your use may also be governed by OpenAI’s own privacy policy, terms of use, API terms, data controls,
billing terms, and usage policies.

INGOAMPT does not control OpenAI’s systems, billing, API availability, model behavior, data retention settings, account rules, or policy changes.

We encourage users to review OpenAI’s policies before using the App.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, App functionality, OpenAI integration, or our privacy practices.

If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
Continued use of the App after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated version will apply going forward.
