Running review, updated 8 October: reported ETF redemptions are a demand headwind alongside policy and energy uncertainty. Disclosed corporate purchases provide context; the next inflation data and October FOMC meeting may change the assessment.
September’s Fed meeting record is now public
What happened: The Federal Reserve published minutes of its 15–16 September meeting. This is the record of a prior meeting, rather than a new October rate decision.
Our interpretation: The record informs policy expectations. New inflation data can change the outlook, so the minutes alone do not establish the direction of the next BTC/EUR move.
What to watch: CPI, PPI and the actual October FOMC decision.

334 BTC acquired; holdings reach 848,000 BTC
What happened: Strategy’s ledger records a 334 BTC acquisition in its 5 October disclosure. The company reports 848,000 BTC held. This is a past reporting-period purchase, not a trade confirmed today.
Our interpretation: Corporate buying is evidence of demand and may support sentiment. This acquisition is already disclosed, so it is weak evidence for a fresh entry in the coming days.
What to watch: The next dated purchase or sale report and whether broader demand confirms it.

Heavy US Bitcoin ETF outflows reported for 7 October
What happened: Farside estimates $484.9m net outflows for 7 October; CoinDesk reports a slightly different $487.1m estimate from SoSoValue. This is a reported session, not a month-end result or confirmed 8 October total.
Our interpretation: Sustained outflows could weaken a source of demand. A reversal or independent spot buying could counter that; one session does not establish a monthly trend.
What to watch: Complete 8 October fund reports and whether subsequent daily net flows recover.

The 7 October ETF flow estimates add a demand headwind to the month’s policy and corporate-disclosure context. The providers’ totals differ slightly and 8 October reporting remains incomplete. This is not a conclusion about the whole month. Farside table ↗ · CoinDesk original reporting ↗

Why these belong in a Bitcoin review
Editorial interpretation: Inflation data and policy decisions can change funding expectations and broader risk appetite. Corporate disclosures can update evidence about actual Bitcoin demand. Their influence is conditional: the same headline can have a different market effect depending on expectations, liquidity and positioning.
For a euro-based trader, the BTC/EUR chart is the relevant price reference. A dollar-denominated Bitcoin headline does not establish the same percentage move in euros. Compare actual euro candles and volume with the news timestamp before attributing a price change to a particular story.
What would change our assessment
A newly released inflation result, a confirmed policy decision, a dated material investor transaction, or an important security or regulatory announcement can change the evidence. We add such developments when a source can be checked. We do not pad the review with repeated forecasts or relabel older events as today’s news.
